If you play any game at all for an extended period of time, you’re a ‘gamer’. When I was twelve and logging six hours of Pokemon on my gameboy at a time, I was a ‘gamer’. When Shannon plays CoD for 28 hours a day, she’s a ‘gamer’. They are all games, it does not matter what so ever what the title is, what console it’s on, what difficulty you’re playing it on or if you’re even good at it. The fact that there’s even enough pride in it to defend it is hysterically sad, it simply does not matter.
I see this as if a football player were to approach someone who is a golfer and say ‘You’re not an athlete, you play golf. Only faggots play golf’ because that’s exactly what this sorry excuse of a gaming ‘community’ is like.
